MORPHEME - FREE MORPHEME AND BOUND MORPHEME

Morpheme is the study of the basic words and affixes.
Morpheme is divided into two: Free and Bound Morpheme
1. Free Morpheme
Is a word that can stand alone and have the potential to form words.
Free morpheme is divided into two parts:
a.       Lexical Morpheme
Morpheme is able to receive the suffix "Suffix" or "Prefix")
example:
- Homes [-s]
- Untidy [un-]
- Smartly [-ly]
b. Functional Morpheme
Morpheme can not accept affixes
Example:
Preposition: in, on, at, etc.
Pronouns: I, you, they, we, he, she, it
Conjunction: but, and, or, etc.
Interjenction: ah, huff, wow, etc.
Article: a, an, the
Demostrative: this, that, Reviews those, Reviews These, etc.
2. Bound Morpheme
It's the opposite of a free morpheme, is bound can not stand alone, it is also no potential to form words, but the potential to form a particle.
Bound morpheme is divided into two:
a.       Derivotional Morpheme
Morpheme to form a new word (meaning and can change his class or not) and is divided into two:
Derivational Prefix, such as: Irregular, Dislike
Derivational Suffix, such as: Careless, Fortunately
Irregular and Dislike words above have earned the prefix [ir-] and [dis].
The addition of the prefix above clearly change the meaning even be antonym of the word origin is regular and like.
Nevertheless, word classes remained unchanged, namely adjective (irregular and regular) and a transitive verb (like and dislike).

b.      Inflectional Morpheme
Unable to form a new word, the meaning and the class he was also unchanged. More precisely, inflectional morpheme used for grammar.
Example, to indicate whether a word plural or singular noun, past or not, or whether comparative or possesive.
Example :   morpheme [ed] added to produce verb to form the past tense produced.
morpheme [-est] added on tall adjective to form a superlative tallest.
